Procedure: Loading Toner
CAUTION: The copy machine will indicate when toner needs to be replaced. Never "top-off" toner or load it unless the copier indicates the toner needs to be replaced. If the copies are light, but the machine is not indicating that the toner needs to be replaced, please call 1-800-877-2679 for service.
WARNING: Before adding toner, carefully read the directions and safety information included with the toner cartridge. Keep toner away from children. Although toner is non-toxic, do not inhale it or allow it to enter your eyes. If toner comes in contact with eyes, consult your physician.
- Open the front panel of the copier. The toner receptacle runs along the top of the copier.
- Lift the green lid up. The toner bottle has a cylindrical body and a square base.
- The toner may have settled, so shake the new toner cartridge well before loading.
- The base of the toner bottle has an exterior plastic cap. Remove this cap.
CAUTION: The toner bottle will also have an interior plastic cap. Do Not Remove the Interior Plastic Cap.
- Along the base (opposite the label side) is a depressed lip. This fits under a similar raised lip on the toner receptacle.
- Once the toner bottle is in place, slide the green lever to the left.
CAUTION: Do Not Squeeze the Toner Bottle. This can cause toner clouds and is difficult to clean up.
- The toner bottle may take several minutes to empty. If some toner appears compacted at the top, gently tap the top or side of the bottle.
